Molly6 (640x456)I can’t believe Molly turns 6 today!  How can it be 6 years already?  So many thoughts come back to my mind when I start thinking about the events leading up to her birth:

  • I am in labor 1 hour away from the hospital, which I had chosen because it was 5 minutes away from our house.
  • I’m alone with a 5 month old and am in labor!
  • I hope Mom answers the phone while she’s volunteering in the kids’ classrooms so she’ll come home and rush me up to the hospital.
  • I can’t believe we have to drive up the bumpy 605 Freeway, while having contractions, with 4 kids in the car!
  • I can’t believe I’m having all these contractions, knowing that I’m having a C-Section!!!
  • Did they just say, “Stat” when talking about my delivery?  (Yes they did!  AHHHHH!!)
  • Well if it hurts this much, I’m glad to know that I’m at least 8 cm dilated and not just 2 and being a wimp!

After that, it’s a bit of a blur and they moved me quickly into the delivery room and Molly was born!

This has been a fun year for Molly!  She is full of life and NEVER sits still!  She LOVES kindergarten and is learning so much each day.  I love to see the look on her face when she realizes she can do something new (which happens often.)  I love listening to her questions and answers during our devotional time at the table each morning and hearing her answer Ashley’s questions (or correct her thoughts) about God is adorable.

Molly, this year I pray you will continue to grow and learn, not only in school, but in the Lord and that you will seek to honor Him in all that you do and say.  (And that I will set a good example for you as your Mom in this area!)

We took a few pictures down at the lake while the weather was nice this morning!

Hooray for turning 6!

To celebrate her birthday, we started the celebration a bit early and spent time last night opening presents, playing a new game and enjoying her very large peanut butter cup as a family.

Happy Birthday to you!

For her cake, she asked Tom to make an enormous peanut butter cup. It was so yummy!!

This morning, she opened her presents from Grandma and Grandpa, ate breakfast and then headed off to workout (for me and playtime for the girls.)  Now it’s off to school and Mac and Cheese for dinner (and of course some of of the huge peanut butter cup for dessert.)
