In May, I flew down to surprise my Dad for his work retirement party! I contacted his boss a few months ago and we were able to work it out. I arranged to stay with Mom and Dad in Huntington Beach and showed up at his work in time for the party! He was so surprised!!

At the airport enjoying some quiet time by myself.

Mom, Autumn and I walked on the beach Friday morning before I headed to LA to surprise my Dad.

Sharing memories of working at the Club

More memories

Visiting the old location of Automotive Research, where my Dad first started.

At his desk, reading a card from his co-workers

Only a few more days…

I had forgotten how beautiful AAA is in downtown LA.

We enjoyed an early dinner at The Grinder across the street.

I don’t miss the LA traffic!!

Later that night, I went over to visit Jeanette! It was so nice to catch up with her!

My Dad and I spent most of the next day at The Huntington Library!

So beautiful (and HOT!!)

I think this flower might start talking at any moment. (I’ve seen too many Disney movies, I guess.)

Enjoying some of the amazing art at The Huntington Library.

That night, we met family at El Torrito for a Retirement celebration dinner.

Sunday morning, Dad met me at CCC for church. It was wonderful connecting with so many friends. Debbie was such a huge support to me when I was going through cancer treatments. It was so nice to give her a hug in person!

After church, I ran over to the ball field and hugged Christina and talked for a bit.

I grabbed In-N-Out for the ride home.

More traffic! Ugh!
It was a busy trip, and I sure made the most of it. Thank you Tom for helping make it possible!!
