Roller Skating

On Tuesday, we were able to take the girls to a skating rink in Auburn.  We had such a fun time.  It’s an hour long session and they let you wear your shoes and take the stroller out on the rink during this session.  (Thanks Jenny for reminding me about this!)

We met Sage’s friend Makenna and her mom there and Sage loved learning to skate.  They tightened the wheels on her skates so she didn’t slip all over the place and at the end of the hour, she was doing pretty good.  Molly tried for a few minutes, but was scared and ended up walking around holding on to the stroller.  Tom and I enjoyed skating as well (and I’m glad I had the stroller to hold on to since it’s been a VERY long time since I’ve been on skates!)  Sage is already asking when we can go back again.

Good job Sage!!

Fun in the Snow

We’ve been enjoying the snow (but not the cold) this week at home.  Sage has been on mid-winter break, and my plans to take the girls out to the zoo and a few other places had to change.  Fortunately, we had the snow to keep us occupied and a few friends down the street to have some last minute playdates with.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day was a multiple day celebration in our home.

It started last week with special valentine’s in the mail from Grandma, Grandpa and the kids.  (Please excuse the random clothes and hair in the video . . . they saw the gifts and just had to open them right away!)

Valentine’s from Grandma and Grandpa

On Sunday, a few plans were made in the car on the way home from church . . . First, Molly asked if she could share her heart candies with Jesus.  I love the mind of a 3 year old as she is figuring out who God is.  Next Sage asked what God thought about Valentine’s Day.  That of course made for a great discussion in the car on the way home from church!  So for our devotions on Valentine’s Day morning, we glued some verses about love on hearts and we read them and talked about them as we hung them up around the house.

On actual Valentine’s Day, Sage came out of her room with a Valentine she had made the night before in bed for me.  (Cute!)  Tom had gotten the girls some flowers and we had a few other little Valentine things for them as well, sitting on the dining room table.  They were most excited about the flowers from Daddy though!  Sage and Molly then went into the garage and brought out flowers and chocolate for me.  They were so excited to give them to me.  It was adorable!!  (Thanks Tom for taking time to do that in the midst of a crazy weekend at work!)

Valentine treats in the morning

Sage had a great time at school handing out valentines and then of course looking at all of the ones she received when she got home.  Molly wanted to give out valentines to her friends as well, so her friends in Puggles will be getting some special Valentine shortbread cookies on Wednesday night.

Tom had to work on Valentine’s Day, as it is such a busy day in a restaurant, so we celebrated with him today.  The girls made him lots of homemade valentines and had picked out some cologne for him.  Then we had a Valentine’s Day Tea for lunch today before Sage went to school.

Here are a few pictures . . .

Valentine Dance/Tea Party

Today, Sage was invited by her friend Hope to a dance studio for a tea party.  When we got there, the teacher invited Molly and Ashley to stay too.  Molly was so excited.  The girls had a little dance lesson and got to dress up in tutus, wings and use star wands.  They were all so cute.  Ashley tried to join in and was just adorable!  If I still lived in Auburn, just a few blocks away, I would have signed up the girls for a class.  The teacher was wonderful and the girls loved it!  Thanks Hope (and Iris) for inviting us!!

I never thought it would happen . . .

Ever since I had to take Sage to the Dr. to have her earring taken out, she has been earring free.  We’ve tried multiple times to convince her to just let us try and put a pair in, knowing that it might not hurt at all, but she never would give in.   Until the other day . . . I’m not sure what changed, but I told her I would stop immediately if it hurt at all and or course it didn’t.  She was so excited and was ready to go out and buy some new earrings with the money Grandma and Grandpa had sent her for Valentine’s Day!

AWANA Grand Prix

Wednesday night was the AWANA Grand Prix at church.  The girls worked hard painting their cars and were so excited to race them.
