The girls and I headed out to the Super Mall for an Easter Bunny Brunch this morning. We met a few moms and kids there from my MOPS table (along with 300 other kids – glad we got there early). The girls had so much fun eating, coloring and playing. I made us matching pillowcase dresses (and a shirt for me) and we wore those today. It’s raining (big surprise) and in the low 50’s, so we wore sweaters and were a little cold until we got into the mall, but I refuse to buy (or make) long sleeve Easter dresses, even up here!

Enjoying their brunch

Sausage (my girl’s favorite) and bunny ears

A quick picture to show how we all match. We got lots of comments as we walked through the mall.

Sage and Ellie seeing the Easter Bunny

Sage was the only one who would go near the Easter Bunny. Ashley screamed with fear and Molly just wanted to stay at the table.

These are the girls’ dresses and my top (top left). They were so easy to make. It took me about 4 hours. It would have been less if I hadn’t guessed so far off on my shirt. I had to take about 4 inches off each side – oops. I could have worn the first one 8 months pregnant and still had room. I offered to make Tom a tie, but he declined. He’ll be wearing a nice light olive green silk shirt to compliment us on Easter.

Today, Tom is taping part four of a cooking video series being produced by Bennett-Watt HD productions. Each part focuses in on a different season and how to use and cook local, seasonal food for that season. The videos will be sold as a set of 4 and I believe the company is going to market it to some cable stations, but I don’t know any more details than that. He took our video camera with him one day so we could see what the set was like. Here’s a clip taken with our camera from his second day of filming if you’re interested. . .

A few weeks ago, we took advantage of a non-rainy day and went for a hike (more of a stroll) in the Cougar Mountain area. We went on the Pretzel Tree Trail that was designed for kids. It had storyboards along the trail for us to read and the kids loved it. We had the backpack with us for Ashley, but she enjoyed walking most of the time.

Notice the light coats or no coat at all? YEA!!!

I realized I hadn’t blogged in a while, so here’s the quick catch up on what’s going on with each of us.
Tom – He’s been super busy at work for the last few weeks and the weeks to come with filming 4 cooking shows, new Spring menu starting on Wednesday, Taste Washington on Sunday and Seattle Restaurant Week, just to name a few.
Jennifer – I’ve been really enjoying Bible Study at our new church and have really been challenged to reach out to our neighbors. In the past 2 weeks I’ve been able to take a meal to two families we see at the bus stop each day. One for the addition of a new baby and one for Sage’s little friend who had her tonsils out at the age of 5. Yuck! We prayed as we walked to their house that the meal, verses and track would be a blessing to them. I’m hoping and praying for more opportunities in the future. We’re also thinking about hosting a Backyard Bible Club at our house this summer.
Sage – She got her first report card this week and it doing amazing! We are so proud of her. She’s taking piano lessons (from us) and starts T-Ball on Tuesday, which she is very excited about.
Molly – Molly has stopped napping most days and actually enjoys the time to herself in her room playing/resting for about an hour each afternoon. She loves to play with her babies and wants to play outside every chance she can get!
Ashley – I took her to her 18 month check up on Friday and she’s grown 2 inches since December, but lost 1 pound. She runs everywhere and eats pretty well, but the Dr. still wants to re-weigh her in a couple months. I’m not worried about it and the Dr. didn’t seem to be either. I think they weighed her standing up on the scale with her clothes (and cloth diaper) on last time, and used the infant scale with no clothes on this time, which would explain the weight loss. She is climbing on everything and into everything and is still a very happy little girl.
As a family we’ve enjoyed getting out on a few walks and hikes with the warmer and drier weather the past few weeks. Flowers are starting to bloom and we are excited to see what our new yard looks like in the spring. We still love our neighborhood and the girls and I are really enjoying getting to know our neighbors.
That’s it for now. I’ll try and get some pictures and video up soon.

I think we are finally recovered from our trip to the Great Wolf Lodge this past week. We were only gone for 2 days and parts of it went by fast, while others seemed eternal (like the middle of the night!) Overall, it was a lot of fun.
Another pair of eyes would have been helpful as Molly and Ashley are still pretty young and we couldn’t take our eyes off them, even for a second. Sage was at the perfect age and went on all the water slides and had a blast! Molly basically used the water like a pool and pretended to swim around. Ashley liked one of the slides a little and had no fear. Because of this, I pulled her out from the water more times than I would have liked to. She didn’t seem to care though.
We were all pretty tired by the end, but enjoyed the time away! Here are a few pictures and captions from the trip . . .

Getting our toes ready for the trip

Ashley wanted her toes painted too.

Taking some time on the way to stop at Cabella’s and practice our shooting

Near some of the animals at Cabella’s

The morning after our fabulous night of NO sleep – Ashley thought she needed some make-up to hide the dark circles under her eyes.

And this is after we supposedly slept . . . after breakfast, we went in the water park for about an hour, but Molly was so sad and tired, I ended up taking the little 2 back to the room and she fell asleep until we had to check-out at noon.

Morning hot chocolate

Ready to go on day 2

Crazy wind/rain storm outside, but 85 degrees inside and in bathing suits in early March in Washington . . . that felt very strange!

This is what Molly looked like most of the time

Ready, set, go!

After church yesterday we headed out to Snoqualmie Falls for a few hours. The sun was out and it was beautiful. It was only about 46 degrees, but after the past few weeks, that felt nice and comfortable. We had a great time looking at the falls and found a beautiful trail in the woods across the street. It was SO NICE to be able to get outside. We can’t wait for spring and summer!!
