Ashley Turns 4!

4 today smallIt is hard to believe that our baby girls is 4!

 Jumping

She is such a bundle of energy and keeps us busy.  She loves to sing, dance, color and play with anything My Little Pony.  It’s a joy to listen to her tell us what she’s learned at church and hear her ask us questions as she is figuring out who Jesus is.
She does a great job of standing up for herself and doesn’t like to be bossed around!  We had a fun day celebrating her birthday and look forward to her birthday party when Grandma and the kids are up here later this month!

A new look . . .

Blogging . . . scrap-booking . . . things I love to do, but seldom make time for (as you can see from the last post on this blog.)

So, here’s the current plan.  All our previous family blogs have been moved over to this domain.  I’m going to attempt to update this on a regular basis, even if it’s just with normal every day things.  So if you see me go for a while without posting, send me a message and tell me to get going!

Happy Easter

Here are a few highlights from our Easter weekend . . .

Tom had a very busy week and weekend at work, so we decided to do our family egg hunt on Saturday morning.  The sun was actually out so we put our coats on and headed outside for an egg hunt!

Easter morning before church, we made Resurrection rolls (croissants wrapped around a marshmallow that disappears when baked, leaving an empty hole in the middle.)  It was the perfect way to start off Resurrection morning before church. We were also able to open our last Resurrection egg (which of course was empty as well) before we headed out the door.  Here are the girls checking out the empty “tomb”.

After church, the girls and I headed out to Uncle Chuck and Aunt Patti’s house to visit with family (and look for more eggs.)

A few hours later, we were off to The Lobster Shop for a very late brunch and to see Tom, who had been working since 4 a.m.  The weather was amazing, so having dinner right on the water was perfect.  This was the first time the girls had eaten here and they were very excited.

Science Fair

Sage spent a few weeks working on her Science Fair project this year.  She decided to see what would happen if she left her lunch out for 2 weeks . . . yuck!

We had the chance to visit a farm of a couple at church and after we saw all the baby goats and lambs, each of the girls got a fresh egg, just laid that they.  We came home and enjoyed them right away.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sugar, sugar, sugar (with a few fruits and veggies thrown in) . . . gotta love Valentine’s Day!

We started off the morning with breakfast as a family before Tom headed off for a busy day at work.

Then Sage headed off to school and the girls and I got ready for our Valentine party – complete with games, crafts, playdough, fun treats, and of course, Valentine cards!  We had a house full of moms and kids, but it went really well and we had a lot of fun.  (I don’t have any pictures yet as I was too busy to take any, but hope to get some soon from other moms who were there.)

After school, the 3 girls looked at each others’ Valentines and of course played Valentine party (decorating a bag and passing out more Valentines.)  Then dinner, bubble baths, stories and off to bed!  What a busy day!

It’s after 8 and the dinner rush is going for Tom at work.  I know I will have one tired husband at the end of the day.  (Actually he’s probably tired now, but too busy to think about it.)  We’ll enjoy spending time with him on Thursday and Friday when he’s off!
