The week after school was out, was VBS for our church. It’s the girls’ favorite week of the year! IN past years, they have been SO TIRED that it’s been a really hard week. But this week, they did really well! It was a great week of learning God’s Word and playing games with friends!
There’s one thing we’re learning about Sage . . . she doesn’t like to do things small. If she’s going to do a project, it’s going to be big and done really well.
Earlier this year, she wrote a script for some of her friends and decided she wanted to turn it into a movie. We bought a green screen (and some great lighting that Tom can use for work and I can use for my blog) and set up a dress rehearsal time and day for filming.
Sage had everyting planned out. Not only did she write the script, she planned the costumes, make-up and hair, planned snacks, directed and filmed the movie and edited it. (She’s pretty amazing on the computer.)
It was a lot of work, but all the kids had fun and the movie turned out really well.
Below are some pictures we took during the dress rehearsal and movie filming.
Tom was off on the 4th of July this year for the entire day, not just the evening. We had a relaxing morning around the house then headed out to visit the Myers at their campsite for a few hours.
The girls finished up swim lessons just as school was ending. They all did a great job and have been using what they learned already in the lake this summer!
In May, Sage had the privilege of being in the Missoula Children’s Theater production of “The Wizard of Oz” at school. Tryouts are on Monday and the performances are on Saturday. It’s a crazy week, but so much fun for the kids. She was cast as Glinda the Good Witch. She has tried out the past few years, but out of 300+ kids trying out, hasn’t gotten a part since 1st grade. She was VERY excited to be chosen this year!! She love to act and sing. 🙂
It’s hard to believe that it’s already the end of the school year. Celebration of Learning was a little rushed for us this year as we had to scramble to 3 classes and an honor choir concert with times overlapping.
It was so much fun to see all the work the girls had done in class. The classrooms looked great and the girls were so excited to show us all their work. 🙂
