Christmas 2015

This Christmas season was very different for us.  Since Tom is working from home to take care of me during chemo, we actually saw him this holiday season!  He was able to be part of everything and I am so thankful for that!!  I never want it any other way!!

So here is our month of December in pictures. 🙂

Missoula Children’s Theater – Aladdin

All 3 girls got a part in this year’s Aladdin production put on by the Missoula Children’s Theater at their school.  Sage was the Grand Vissir, Molly was a Camel and Ashley was a Penguin.  It was a lot of work for them that week, but they leanred their parts well and did a great job!

Disneyland and California Adventure for the Day

After we got off the cruise ship we headed to Disneyland and CA Adventure for the day.  It was a whirlwind day, but I’m so glad we did it.  It had been so long since we’ve been there just the two of us.  We have so many wonderful memories there as a couple.  Even though it was the most crowded we have ever seen it, we made the best of it and explored every last inch of both parks and even managed to get on a few rides.  It was a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me as I kept thinking about what was to come when we went home, but overall it was a really nice day. 🙂

20th Anniversary Cruise

In late September, Mom flew up to stay with the girls for about 2 weeks so Tom and I could go on a 10 day cruise to celebrate our 20th anniversary (which was in July). It was a dream vacation . . . not only a 10 day cruise, but on Princess Cruise line, which I have always wanted to sail on.

The trip was not only a great time to get away without the kids, but a nice break from the news we had just received about my cancer. There were a few tears on the cruise (from me) as I thought about what the future would hold, but we had such an amazing time away together and I loved every moment of it!

First Day of School 2015

It hard to believe summer has come and gone, but in true Washington weather, school started! The girls were so excited, they were up very early (before 5:30). Well, Ashley slept in ’til 7 am, but the other two were up and ready to go!!

Ashley 1st grade 2

Molly 2nd grade 2

Sage 5th grade 2

They at breakfast and then just talked and talked before we headed out to the bus.

Our bus stop has five times as many kids this year, most of whom they played with in the neighborhood this summer. They were excited about that as they waited to get on the bus this morning.

Seeing friends at the bus stop

It was a great first day (and first week.)  Although they did enjoy having a 3 day weekend and getting an extra day of summer that way.  🙂
