Mt. Ranier for the Day

It wasn’t raining on Saturday and it was beautiful out.  For the past couple months, everyone has been so tired by the time the weekend comes around so we’ve just stayed home.  Last weekend, we all wanted to get out.  We had originally thought about going to a corn maze, but Mr. Ranier sounded more fun.  We went out to breakfast, came home and packed some snacks and headed out.

The fall color were beautiful, and we were able to drive around the mountain on the Chinook Pass, which has always been closed when we’ve gone before.  Thanks to missing a turn-off we were able to enjoy the snow for a bit! (more…)

Molly’s Field Trip

Yesterday, I joined Molly’s class for a trip to the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery.  Neither of us had ever been there and we learned a lot. (At least I did.  She already knew everything from studying about it in class!)

It was raining (a lot) the entire time.  But the kids didn’t seem to mind.  It was a very “Seattle” day for me – Hunter Boots, NorthFace rain coat, Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks and the Salmon Hatchery.  With my umbrella, I was still pretty dry by the end! (more…)

The Start of a New School Year

It’s hard to believe that another school year has begun!  We’ve been busy the past couple weeks shopping for school supplies and of course, their first day of school outfits.  (Remind me next year to not shop two days in a row at the mall with them.  I was exhausted by the end!!)

Sage has to be out the door this year at 7:35, so it’s an early start for us!  She got up at 6:15 this morning so she could get ready and have enough time to curl her hair.  (She even had time to curl Ashley’s before she left!)  I took her to her friend Elizabeth’s house, so she could walk to the bus stop with her this morning.

Another School Year Over

It’s just crazy to me that another school year is over!  It was a hard year for our family because of my health, but we made it!! The girls loved their teachers and we are so proud of how hard they worked!

Tea to Celebrate Being Done with Chemo

After the girls’ cup stacking competition in Portland, we took a little time to celebrate the end of chemo.

I was very tired, and it wasn’t an easy day physically, but we enjoyed having tea together as a family at the Heathman Hotel in downtown Portland.

During December, we had visited the hotel and looked around at all the beautiful Christmas decorations.  The room where we had tea has a high ceiling and the upper floor looks like a library.  I love it!

Sarah’s Visit

Tom had to go to Fort Collins, CO for work, so Sarah Burns, one of my sweet friends from college, came up to help out and visit for 4 days!  It was so much fun to see her and catch up with her.  It seems like I just saw her yesterday, even though it has been a few years!
