Bedroom Makeover

While Tom was off the past 11 days (kind of…he did a little work, but locally), we let the girls paint and redecorate their room. We kept the bedding and some of the decor, but let them choose the paint color and a few new decorations. We also moved some furniture around and got a few new storage cube bookshelves from IKEA. There is so much more space and we decluttered a lot!

Here are some before and after pictures.

BEFORE

Ashley’s bed and vanity area
Molly’s bed, complete with curtain to close herself in and curtain under the loft bed to make a fortress or have a private reading room. There was a large 4×4 bookcase in between the bed (which we moved into the closet).

DURING

Before Christmas, we moved a bunch of furniture around to make sure we liked the new layout. We also purged as much as we could! It was a lot of work, but I’m so glad we did this a week before we did the painting and decorating so the project was broken up a little bit.
The girls helped with every part of the project…masking, patching and painting. They did a great job!

AFTER

We moved Ashley’s bed part way under Molly’s, which freed up some space for a reading corner. We got a 2×2 bookcase for books and a charging station. We also got a 4×2 bookcase for their storage baskets. They chose some fun sequin pictures which change from gold to white. They also chose a few other little accent decorations.
We got rid of the big white curtain and added some white lights around the top of the room for fun!
