Last Monday after school, Sage tried out for a part in Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs and got a part as a bat. The play is put on by a few people from the Missoula Children’s Theater. She had a blast at rehearsal Wednesday – Friday after school and then again on Saturday morning and early afternoon. They had 2 different performances. She came out on stage 3 times and of course I have video of all of them. (This is mostly for grandparents to see, but feel free to watch even if you aren’t Grandma, Grandpa or Papa.)

When the video zooms in, Sage is the middle (in case you can’t find her).

The title says it all . . .

Waiting . . .

So no cute plane or fire truck to sit in for the 3rd child’s first hair cut. I opted for a great hair cut instead of a toy to sit on with a bad hair cut. She was so excited and acted so grown up. Another last of “firsts” for our kids.

I haven’t had much time to blog lately, but summer is almost over, so I’ve decided to condense the last 2 months into one blog post with pictures and captions . . .
Tom’s parents and the kids vacationed up here for a few weeks again and we stayed with them at a house on Lake Morton. The weather was horrible (or shall I just say normal Washington weather), but we were able to get out on the lake at least a few days and take some day trips to nearby places. It was fun to spend time with them, even if the weather was horrible.

On July 30th, the girls were flower girls in Emily and Andrew Knect’s wedding. They were adorable and had so much fun sharing in their special day!

The day after Eimly and Andrew’s wedding, my friend Sarah from college visited us for a couple days. We picked her up at the Amtrak station on Sunday and gave her the quick tour of downtown Seattle.

That was July . . . Then at 4 a.m. on August 1st, I woke up to realize Tom had not gotten home from work yet. He had fallen asleep on the way home from work and ended up fracturing his back. It hasn’t been an easy month, but are so grateful for God’s protection and that he wasn’t hurt any worse than he was. He is in a brace for at least 1 1/2 more weeks and then has a long road of rehabilitation ahead of him. His work has been wonderful and has given him some projects to do at home while he is resting and recovering.

This is the brace he is in all the time, except when he’s laying down flat on the bed. He heads back to the Dr. on September 8th to have another x-ray to see if it’s healed and he can take the brace off.
August 1st was also Ashley’s 2nd birthday. We celebrated as much as we could that day and then had a family party a few weeks later.

My Dad came up to visit for a few weeks. It was so much fun to see him and the girls loved spending time with Papa. We were around the house most of the time, as I wasn’t comfortable leaving Tom for long yet, so we don’t have many pictures.

My Dad had made a bunch of toys for the girls and one day, they had a few friends over to paint some cute animals that he had made. 🙂
In August, we also enjoyed swimming in the lake, story time in the park, and also music in the park. Now, school is about a week and a half away and Sage is so excited!

While it took a few days for the weather to cooperate, summer seems to have arrived up here in the pacific northwest. I decided to do a letter a day (or most days) just to keep things from getting boring this summer. So last Saturday we started the ABC’s of summer. Here are a few pictures from our first week . . .

Apple prints with our neighbor Addisyn

Bubbles (Her container was empty, but she still had fun!)

Tea party – nothing to do with a letter of the day, but the girls each invited 3 friends over (and siblings) and we had a tea party to start off the summer.
