Sunday evening, the girls and I headed up to Lake Washington to join Eric and Julie Lund and the Myers family on the Lund’s sail boat.  Julie had dinner for us on the boat when we got there and then we headed out to join the Argosy Christmas Ship.  It was a fun night hanging out with friends (and even singing a few Christmas carols).  The girls enjoyed helping Eric steer the boat.  What a fun way to start off the Christmas season!  Thanks Eric and Julie for the invitation and wonderful hospitality aboard your boat! Decorating for Christmas

Decorating for Christmas

While I caved in a few weeks ago and we decorated early, this morning after breakfast we went and got our Christmas tree.  We’ve made several attempts in the past to go into the woods and cut down a tree but found that it’s so much easier and enjoyable  just  to drive to Home Depot and get one.  (No tire chains needed, no one gets car sick (yuck!), the tree looks so much nicer, etc.)  So it’s not as fun of a story to tell, but hey – we like the tree and it’s up and looks great.

I have no idea why the girls thought it was so fascinating to watch Tom tie the tree on top of the car!

Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving 2013

We have so much to be Thankful for!  I am reminded so often of God’s grace and how undeserving I am of his gift of salvation.  Whey He chose me, I will never understand, but I am so grateful!

As the girls and I enjoyed our time yesterday with family and friends, with about 1,000 reservations at work, Tom headed out early in the morning.  While the day went well for him and his crew, we missed having him with us all day long! I am so thankful for a loving husband that works so hard to provide for us and sets a great example to us and others by doing so with a selfless, positive attitude.  The picture below is just a glimpse of the walk in refrigerator at the restaurant . . . I have no idea how he does this!!!!

Enjoying the Pacific Science Center

Enjoying the Pacific Science Center

May I take your order please?

May I take your order please?

Last year for Christmas, our family received a year pass to the Pacific Science Center from the Greenfield Family.  We enjoyed many visits up to Seattle to spend time here!  Our passes expired on the 20th, so we headed up there after school for 1 1/2 hours for one last time.  It was deserted so that ended up being plenty of time as we didn’t have to wait for anything!  Thank you Aunt Patti and Uncle Chuck and kids for a year of great memories!! Ashley the Ballerina

For her 4th birthday, Grandma, Grandpa, Autumn, Austin and Alyssa gave her money to take a dance class.  She “learned” ballet, tap and jazz.  She had so much fun, although the class was definitely geared toward the older kids in the class.  She is already asking for another class for Christmas.  🙂 (more…)
