Just us girls

I get comments all the time about having all girls.  This was one of those times and I loved every minute of it!  We loved it so much we made an appointment for Tom to enjoy one on his next day off!!

Swimming Lessons and The Nutcracker . . . all in a day!

We were given 3 tickets at the last minute for a performance of The Nutcracker at McCaw Hall on December 27th.  Tom wanted Sage, Molly and I to go so he stayed home with Ashley and ate crab (Ashley’s request), watched movies and played.  The only problem was that Sage and Molly were starting their swimming lessons at 4 pm that same day.  We decided to rush as fast as we could and do both, even if it meant we were late.  Swimming lessons went great and they LOVED being in the pool again.  (Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for this!!)

New jammies for the girls and their dolls

New jammies for the girls and their dolls

After a busy month, Christmas morning was finally here.  We only had a short time with Tom before he had to go to work, but had a relaxing morning full of presents, food and even a nap for Tom.  We spent time in the afternoon watching “The Nativity” and talking about Jesus’ birth and the gift He gave us so many years ago when He came to earth as a baby and then what He did for us on the cross.  I loved hearing the girls questions and comments during our discussion and the movie as they are all at such different levels of understanding.   (more…)

Footprints in the snow

It’s the last day of school for the year, Christmas parties planned . . . and then a 6 am call from the school that there is a 2 hour delay.  Fast forward an hour and a half and another call – school is cancelled because of snow.  It was only an inch, but we’ll take it!  (more…)

Why I am deactivating my Facebook account

I started blogging back when scrapbooking became difficult because of small children.  I wanted to have a way to remember things that were going on in our lives without having to worry about my 2 year old injuring herself with one of my many scrapbooking supplies.  While it’s been an off and on ordeal, we all enjoy looking back at previous posts to see things we’ve done.  Sometimes, I write posts to myself so I’ll look back and remember something.  This is one of those posts.
