This year for Molly’s birthday, we invited 2 of her friends to join us for Tea at the American Girl Store up in Lynwood. The 14 of us headed up there last week (6 kids, 6 dolls and 2 moms). The girls enjoyed time looking around and the store and Molly had fun picking out a few things with some gift cards she got for her birthday.
I’m sure my Mom would be glad to know that all those years of piano paid off and I played the piano in church and Bible Study a few times recently.
It’s hard to believe that 12 years ago today my Mom went home to be with the Lord. Memories of that morning flooded into my head at the breakfast table this morning . . . followed shortly by a quick call to my Dad and a quick text to my Aunt Karen.
While I might never know why God took her home to be with Him at that time, because of her death, this morning I was given the chance to one again share the gospel with our girls and talk about what the Bible teaches us about Heaven. Of course there are many opportunities to do this every day, but they know how special my Mom was to me and this day, her birthday and Mother’s Day, our conversations always seem to be richer. Lately, I feel like the girls are growing before my eyes. So when they asked today if they could all take a bath together, I said yes, thinking that it probably won’t even be an option for much longer. They were adorable so I had to grab my camera and snap a few pictures . . .
