Sweet Friendship

I’m having so much fun watching the girls grow up.  Ashley seems to be changing every day (which is good, because she’s starting kindergarten in a few months!!)

While we were at Celebration of Learning the other night, Tom snapped a few photos of Ashley and her friend Andrew.  They are both 4 and just LOVE playing together.  Every Wednesday, they have a playdate together while us moms take turns volunteering at school.  It’s worked out so well and the kids just love it!

Some big secret telling was going on . . .

I LOVE this! Mrs. Rowe (Sage’s 3rd grade teacher) was bending down to have a conversation with them. It was adorable!!!

They hold hands and walk everywhere. So cute!

Celebration of Learning

Celebration of Learning

Last Thursday was Celebration of Learning over the at the girls’ school.  Both girls’ classroom were open for the same half hour, so it was a bit rushed to get in there and see all their work.  It was so fun to see all that they have accomplished over the year.  We’re so proud of them.  🙂  Thanks Aunt Patti and Uncle Chuck for coming and taking some pictures!

Kanaskat Palmer State Park

Kanaskat Palmer State Park

One of our favorite places to go and explore nearby is Kanaskat Palmer State Park.  The other night, we took our dinner and some charcoal and headed out there for dinner.  The river was a lot higher then we had ever seen it, so we didn’t spend too much time down there.  But we did have some fun playing with a ball and frisbee and I enjoyed walking through some stinging nettles to get a ball out of the bushes for Molly.  Ouch!!

Playing around with Tom’s phone and the video settings.

Looks like Ashley might be falling in, but she caught herself. 🙂

Easter 2014

Happy Easter (a few days late.)  This Easter season, was different for me than in previous years.  During our family devotions each morning for the few weeks leading up to Easter, the girls were really eager to learn about the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ.  They asked so many great questions and loved going through their Resurrection Eggs.  I love to see them grow in their knowledge of our Lord and Savior!

The day before Easter, we spent time with Aunt Patti decorating eggs and making candy.

We used beets, coffee, tumeric, green tea powder, paprika and blueberries to color our eggs this year. I love how they turned out!

Blueberry dyed eggs were my favorite!

Easter morning Tom was up at 4:30 and out the door to serve over 900 guests with an all day buffet.  That is the most they have ever served on any day in all the records he can find, and it went smoothly.  I know that he was happy his long hours and the hard work of his staff paid off.  He was exhausted but it was a good day for him at the restaurant.

Our day looked quite a bit different than his.  (You can read more on that over here on my blog about being married to a chef.)  We went to church in the morning, relaxed in the afternoon and then Aunt Patti and Uncle Chuck came over for dinner and an Easter Egg hunt.

Not sure what’s going on with Molly here . . . maybe too many pictures or too much candy!

Puyallup Spring Fair

Puyallup Spring Fair

This year we had the chance to go to the Spring Fair in Puyallup.  The WA State Fair has never really been one of our favorite things to do, but we decided to give the Spring Fair a try since we were give some tickets.

Let’s just say the morning was pretty horrible.  Not a great day for our family, but some memories (good and bad) were still made, so here are a few pictures from our day.

Sage has been wanting to try to shoot a bow and arrow.  Today was her chance.  🙂  The girls were very excited to try archery.
