We’re so proud of the hard work the girls put in to learning all their verses for AWANA this year. Molly and Ashley both finished up their books mid way through the year and started working on their review books. Sage got 3/4 of the way through her book and will be finishing it over the summer so she is ready to start a new book in the fall!

This is one of my favorite field trips. Seahurst Park at low tide is full of amazing things to see. We had some guides that taught us about the ocean and marine life and then we got to explore the tide pools in groups. The kids made lots of discoveries and I was so impressed with what they had learned in class before the trip.

Inside the classroom at the beach learning how everything works together and affects each other.

Ashley’s kindergarten class went on a field trip to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. The weather in April can be hit or miss, but the day we went, it was sunny! Yay!
I had a group of 3 girls and we walked all around the zoo with a few other moms and their groups.

We spent most of our time in the aquarium as the kids loved the animals in there.

We headed up to Vancouver, Canada for the day. We haven’t been up to Canada since we moved here and it was a bit crazy to do it in one day, but is was so much fun. It was horrible, rainy weather that day, but we made the best of it!
We drove into a town, about 20 minutes south of Vancouver and took the train the rest of the way. (more…)

While things have been going much better around the house, we still have some days that are really tough. We decided that instead of just hanging out at home with nothing planned on a dreary Sunday afternoon, to plan a family date. I planned a few activities and made clues for the girls to figure out what we were going to do.

We started off with lunch at home, playing Disney Headbanz
