Footprints in the snow

It’s the last day of school for the year, Christmas parties planned . . . and then a 6 am call from the school that there is a 2 hour delay.  Fast forward an hour and a half and another call – school is cancelled because of snow.  It was only an inch, but we’ll take it!

Sage and Molly headed out pretty early.  It was around 7:30 and it was just starting to become light outside.  They were very excited to be the first ones down the hill on our street.

They couldn't wait any longer . . .

After Ashley got up, we hopped in the car and headed down to the lake to sled on the hills there and look at the lake with snow all around it.  It was so beautiful!!

One time down the hill for Mom!

One time down the hill for Mom!

We enjoyed some hot chocolate back at home and the two older girls continued to play outside with the neighbors until about 10:30.  Most of the snow was slushy by noon, so I’m glad they were able to play for so long before it melted.

The hill in front of our house is not great for bike riding, but PERFECT for sledding!

We were sad to see the snow melt, but Molly did save some snow (and dirt) in the freezer.  Thank goodness!  🙂
