While I caved in a few weeks ago and we decorated early, this morning after breakfast we went and got our Christmas tree. We’ve made several attempts in the past to go into the woods and cut down a tree but found that it’s so much easier and enjoyable just to drive to Home Depot and get one. (No tire chains needed, no one gets car sick (yuck!), the tree looks so much nicer, etc.) So it’s not as fun of a story to tell, but hey – we like the tree and it’s up and looks great.

I have no idea why the girls thought it was so fascinating to watch Tom tie the tree on top of the car!
Now the girls are watching a movie (or sleeping . . . it’s very quiet in the back of the house), Tom is napping (after working a CRAZY week) and I’m enjoying the quiet house, thinking about our family in CA and wondering which mall they are at on this crazy day (and wishing we were with them). I’m also looking forward to our Thanksgiving dinner we will be enjoying as a family in a just a few hours and am so glad I made most of it ahead of time so I can relax today!! Happy day after Thanksgiving!
