In late September, Mom flew up to stay with the girls for about 2 weeks so Tom and I could go on a 10 day cruise to celebrate our 20th anniversary (which was in July). It was a dream vacation . . . not only a 10 day cruise, but on Princess Cruise line, which I have always wanted to sail on.
The trip was not only a great time to get away without the kids, but a nice break from the news we had just received about my cancer. There were a few tears on the cruise (from me) as I thought about what the future would hold, but we had such an amazing time away together and I loved every moment of it!

Bon Voyage!

First port – San Diego . . . exploring Old Town before it opened

The Crown Princess . . . it is such an enormous ship!!

We had never been to Little Italy before in San Diego. It was fun to see something new!

Cabo San Lucas

Sailing away from Cabo

We spent a lot of the day looking around at the beautiful resorts!

We had the beach to ourselves!

Would love to come back and stay here!!

Sitting down in the air conditioned lobby of a hotel for a few minutes. It was so hot and humid!!

Away from tourists and enjoying our first tacos. Thankful we both speak enough Spanish so we could get away and enjoy local places that were not tourist traps!

We took a 20 minute bus ride from the cruise ship to the city of La Paz. We walked for a bit down the main road, and then headed up away from all the tourists and found a local market. We were the only tourist around and enjoyed an empanada and taco there too!
Loreto

We started off in Loreto looking around at resorts,. We found a taxi driver who drove us over to a resort to snorkel and then he took us to one of his favorite taco places.

Tacos!

Snorkeling by ourselves. It was so beautiful. Not a ton of fish to see, but still fun!

Pointing to one of our favorite places to sit and relax – the back top of the ship in a lounge. It had a great view of the ship and water and was always deserted!
