I haven’t had much time to blog lately, but summer is almost over, so I’ve decided to condense the last 2 months into one blog post with pictures and captions . . .
Tom’s parents and the kids vacationed up here for a few weeks again and we stayed with them at a house on Lake Morton. The weather was horrible (or shall I just say normal Washington weather), but we were able to get out on the lake at least a few days and take some day trips to nearby places. It was fun to spend time with them, even if the weather was horrible.

On July 30th, the girls were flower girls in Emily and Andrew Knect’s wedding. They were adorable and had so much fun sharing in their special day!
The day after Eimly and Andrew’s wedding, my friend Sarah from college visited us for a couple days. We picked her up at the Amtrak station on Sunday and gave her the quick tour of downtown Seattle.
That was July . . . Then at 4 a.m. on August 1st, I woke up to realize Tom had not gotten home from work yet. He had fallen asleep on the way home from work and ended up fracturing his back. It hasn’t been an easy month, but are so grateful for God’s protection and that he wasn’t hurt any worse than he was. He is in a brace for at least 1 1/2 more weeks and then has a long road of rehabilitation ahead of him. His work has been wonderful and has given him some projects to do at home while he is resting and recovering.
This is the brace he is in all the time, except when he’s laying down flat on the bed. He heads back to the Dr. on September 8th to have another x-ray to see if it’s healed and he can take the brace off.
August 1st was also Ashley’s 2nd birthday. We celebrated as much as we could that day and then had a family party a few weeks later.

My Dad came up to visit for a few weeks. It was so much fun to see him and the girls loved spending time with Papa. We were around the house most of the time, as I wasn’t comfortable leaving Tom for long yet, so we don’t have many pictures.
My Dad had made a bunch of toys for the girls and one day, they had a few friends over to paint some cute animals that he had made. 🙂
In August, we also enjoyed swimming in the lake, story time in the park, and also music in the park. Now, school is about a week and a half away and Sage is so excited!
